Detection of the cereal viruses BSMV, WSMV and WDV with LOEWE®REALTIME
Cat. No. 06014C/100
Barley Stripe Mosaic Virus (BSMV)
BSMV infects barley (Hordeum vulgare), wheat (Triticum aestivum), oats (Avena sativa), and other grasses, leading to stripe or mosaic patterns on leaves, which appear yellow or greenish, stunted growth, leaf deformations, and reduced yield.
BSMV can cause significant yield losses in areas with high cereal production, especially under heavy infestation pressure.
Our realtime assay can detect as low as 1 fg of total RNA from infected leaves.
Cat. No. 06048C/100
Wheat Streak Mosaic Virus (WSMV)
WSMV primarily affects wheat but can also infect other cereals like barley, rye, and various grasses.
It causes yellow mosaic and streak patterns on leaves. In severe cases, plants may become stunted, and yields significantly decrease.
WSMV causes major damage in wheat fields, especially in North America and arid regions, as it is transmitted by wheat curl mites.
Our realtime assay can detect as low as 0.1 pg of total RNA from infected leaves.
Cat. No. 06082C/100
Wheat Dwarf Virus (WDV)
WDV primarily infects wheat but can also affect rye, barley, and some other grasses.
It causes stunting, pale or yellowing leaves, and plant dwarfism. It can reduce both the number and size of grains.
WDV is particularly significant in Europe and Asia and can lead to substantial yield losses in wheat fields, especially when transmitted by insect vectors like aphids.
Our realtime assay can detect as low as 0.1 pg of total RNA from infected leaves.
